HWS Specialty (HWS) is pleased to announce the appointment of William Alderton as Executive Director, Delegated Authorities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to strengthening its global specialty capabilities.
William brings nearly four decades of experience as a Lloyd’s market underwriter. Most recently, he served as Unit Head of Worldwide Property Binders at Axis Capital, where he led underwriting across Australia, Canada, the USA, Europe and the Caribbean. Prior to Axis, William spent 10 years at Chaucer Syndicates as the International Binders Underwriter for Lloyd’s Syndicate 1084.
In his new role, William will leverage his extensive knowledge of the binding authority market to help HWS Specialty unlock its full potential in London.

William will commence his role on 26 January 2026.
